The industry is facing a shortage of more than 50,000 long-haul truck drivers, according to the American Trucking Association. As the economy grows, so will the demand for goods and the need for these long-haul carriers. In fact, the jobs in the trucking industry will grow by 11 percent from 2012 to 2022.
Earning a commercial driver's license (CDL) is the baseline for breaking into the trucking industry. While a CDL is needed to become a commercial truck driver, it also allows you to operate large passenger buses, flatbed trucks, and more based on the Class of license.
The Commercial Driver Training course will teach you the skills you need to start a career as a commercial truck driver. You will learn about transporting cargo, operating commercial vehicles, and handling hazardous materials. You will also gain workplace preparedness soft skills, which increase your employability to prospect employers. When you finish this course, you will be prepared to sit for and pass your state's Commercial Drivers' License written exam.
