Overview

Personal care aides (PCAs), often known as caregivers, play a crucial role in supporting clients who require assistance with daily activities due to illness, injury, or age-related limitations. These professionals are dedicated to promoting their client's physical well-being and providing emotional support and companionship during challenging times.

This asynchronous caregiver course will provide you with a comprehensive overview of the personal care aide's roles and responsibilities and ways to properly care for clients, including hygiene, grooming, nutrition, rehabilitation, legal and ethical guidelines, and more. Additionally, during your personal care aide training, important skills will be discussed to help you prepare for your career as a caregiver within the home environment and healthcare facility. After completing the PCA training course, you will have the essential knowledge and competencies to perform the duties of a personal care aide and provide exceptional caregiving to clients or family members in a profession that is expected to grow significantly through 2031.

The medical terminology course introduces key concepts of medical language and human anatomy, emphasizing the interconnectedness of body systems in health and disease. Students with prior knowledge can optionally test out by achieving a minimum score of 80%, replacing course content if desired. It is important to understand that this course feature only applies to the online Medical Terminology course.
