In this Certified Indoor Air Quality Manager Online Training and Certification course, you'll learn how to diagnose, resolve, and prevent indoor air quality (IAQ) complaints. You'll also establish a comprehensive IAQ plan specific to your buildings.
Not only will this course teach you how to improve your building's indoor air, it will also prepare you for third-party certification by the American Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC). You'll learn about all the pertinent topics covered on the certification exam. You can even take a 100-question practice examination to prepare for certification.

The instructional materials required for this course are included in enrollment an available online. You'll be able to save the entire text portion of the course as a PDF file so that you can reference the material even after you've completed the course.
There are no prerequisites to take this course. However, there are experience requirements if you plan to take the optional certification exam by the American Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC). ACAC requires a high school diploma or GED, along with two years of documented experience in property management, risk management, asset management, or corporate policy-making. Questions regarding certification should be directed to ACAC.
Ian Cull is the president of Indoor Sciences and has worked in the indoor air quality and building science fields since 1995. Previously, he served as vice president of the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) from 2008-2011 and served as a director from 2006-2011. Cull has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), a Certified Indoor Environmental Consultant (CIEC), and a Certified Indoor Air Quality Professional (CIAQP). Cull frequently lectures on indoor air quality and building science and has developed numerous seminars and certification courses on the topics.
Can I register for a course if I am an international student?
Yes, ed2go courses are completely online. However, keep in mind that not all certifying bodies or industry-specific certifications are recognized internationally. Please review your country's regulations prior to enrolling in courses that prepare for certification.
Does this course prepare me for a certification?
Yes, this course prepares you to take the certification examination offered by the American Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC). Additional fees apply.
When can I start the course?
This course is open enrollment, so you can register and start the course as soon as you are ready. Access to your course can take 24-48 business hours.
How long does it take to complete this course?
This course is self-paced and open enrollment, so you can start when you want and finish at your own pace. When you register, you'll receive six (6) months to complete the course.
What if I don't have enough time to complete my course within the time frame provided?
The time allotted for course completion has been calculated based on the number of course hours. However, if you are unable to complete the course, contact your Student Advisor to help you work out a suitable completion date. Please note that an extension fee may be charged.
What kind of support will I receive?
You may be assigned with an instructor or team of industry experts for one-on-one course interaction. Your support will be available (via email) to answer any questions you may have and to provide feedback on your performance. All of our instructors are successful working professionals in the fields in which they teach. You will be assigned to an Advisor for academic support.
What happens when I complete the course?
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.
Am I guaranteed a job?
This course will provide you with the skills you need to obtain an entry-level position in most cases. Potential students should always do research on the job market in their area before registering.
Can I get financial assistance?
This course is non-credit, so it does not qualify for federal aid, FAFSA and Pell Grant. In some states, vocational rehab or workforce development boards will pay for qualified students to take our courses. Additionally, some students may qualify for financial assistance when they enroll, if they meet certain requirements. Financing is available from select schools. How is this course different from the Certified Indoor Environmentalist (CIE)?
The CIAQM course is designed for individuals who work each day in the same facility, serving or managing the building's occupants. The CIE course is designed for consultants who may respond to specific, complex indoor air problems, without having to manage relationships with the building occupants.
