This online course is designed to teach you the Autodesk Revit functionality as you would work with it throughout the architectural design process. You will also have learn the functionality that is required for the Autodesk Revit Architecture Certified User exam. You'll begin the course by learning about the user interface and basic drawing, editing, and viewing tools. Then you'll learn how to build a 3D model with walls, doors, windows, floors, ceilings, stairs and more. Finally, you'll learn the processes that takes the model to the construction documentation phase. The online content in this course is heavily focused with hands-on exercises where you are required to use your installed software as well as downloaded files to learn and practice your new skills. This course includes a voucher to take the certifying exam. Proctor fees may apply, which are not included.

- At least 4GB of RAM (8GB is recommended).
Software Requirements:
- PC: Windows 7 or later.
- Browser: The latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox are preferred. Microsoft Edge is also compatible.
- Autodesk Revit 2018. You can download a free version of the Autodesk Revit 2018 software that provides a 3-year student version license, however the student software license cannot be used in a commercial environment.

- Software must be installed and fully operational before the course begins.

Instructional Material Requirements:

Prerequisites:
There are no prerequisites to take this course, however you should have a basic knowledge of the Windows operating system and be comfortable installing software, working with file structures, downloading files, and unzipping compressed files. You should also have a basic knowledge of design/drafting procedures and terminology.
Martha Hollowell holds a B.Sc. in Architecture from the University of Virginia. She worked in architectural firms and then moved to consulting and training with a focus on CAD (Computer Aided Design) and BIM (Building Information Modeling). She currently designs and develops both online and print curriculum for the Autodesk line of building design and construction software products. As a subject matter expert, she focuses her development efforts working specifically with Autodesk Revit creating content for architecture, structure, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and landscape design. Martha has always enjoyed teaching and passing her knowledge and interest in architecture on to her students. She is an Autodesk Revit Architect certified professional.
1. Can I register for programs if I am an
international
student?
Yes, because ed2go programs are online you never
have to
actually travel to the school. Most
schools offer telephone or online registration.
2. How long does it
take to complete a program?
All of our programs are self-paced and open
enrollment, so
you can start them when you want and finish them at your own pace. Upon registering, you're given six months to
complete the program.
3. What if I don't
have enough time to complete my program within the time frame provided?
The time allotted to complete your program has
been
calculated based on the number of hours for each program, so don't
worry too
much about not completing in time. If, after a concerted effort, you
are still
unable to complete, your Student Advisor will help you work out a
suitable
completion date. Please note that a fee may be charged for an extension.

8. Who will be my
instructor?
Each student is paired with a facilitator for
one-on-one
interaction. The facilitator will be
available (via e-mail) to answer any questions you may have and to
provide
feedback on your performance. All of our
facilitators are successful working professionals in the fields in
which they
teach.
9. What software or
hardware do I need in order to take online programs and what are the
system
requirements?
In order to take our online programs, you must
have access
to a computer and the Internet. You can
access the program contents from any Web-enabled computer.
You don't have to use the same computer to
log-in to the program every time.
Additionally, you must have a computer that is
capable of
running Autodesk Revit 2018 (see system requirements for more details).
As a
student you can also download a free version of the Autodesk Revit 2018
software that provides a 3-year student version license. Please note
that ed2go
cannot extend the software license for Autodesk Revit 2018. The
Autodesk Revit
2018 student software license cannot be used in a commercial
environment.
We recommend that you have a word-processing
program
(Microsoft Word is the best) and the latest version of Internet
Explorer.
