To enroll in this program, you should be proficient in keyboarding, have a basic understanding of a word-processing computer program (Microsoft Word is recommended), and have a command of English grammar and punctuation. No payroll or office work experience is required.
To qualify to sit for the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) exam, administered by the American Payroll Association (APA), you must have been practicing a total of three (3) years out of the five (5) years preceding the date of the examination. The practice of payroll is defined as direct or related involvement in at least one of the following:
o Payroll Production, Payroll Reporting, Payroll Accounting, Payroll Systems and Payroll Taxation
o Payroll Administration
o Payroll Education/Consulting
